Chapter 7, "Dust and Democrats"

Some of the main things I would use in this chapter would be the sudden decline of Kansas popularity. WIth the dust storms destroying Kansas made people begin moving out of the state. I will also make mention of the fact that Kansas received $56 million from the WPA to help the state recover from the depression. Also, the information about Beech and Cessna aircraft industry that really puts Wichita, Ks on the map. And the fact that the industry is still sustainging the towns' economy today.

Miner, Chapter 6 "CHastened and Changed"

There is a lot of good information in this chapter. First of all I am going to use in information about the Ku Klux Klan and all of the power that they held. The fact that the Klan had such influence in society that was interesting. Also, the picture of the dirt roads that ran through Kansas. The story about the traveling 8 hours to make it a few miles instead of an entire state or two. And finally I would pull out the information about the early industries in Kansas.

Hist 813, October 23

This week in looking for Primary Sources has been an interesting one. I am having a problem narrowing down my use of sources. I know I could use more than 15-20 and I will get it down some but it is hard. I have found some good pics of rallies and movements that should be really effective for my project.
